How to Recruit for the Best Candidate using Behavioral Based Interviewing

Interviewing-the process of selecting the organization’s most valuable resource, its employees -is an art. Doing well at it determines the quality of the hire, and eventually, the organization’s destiny. Yet, the interview is also one interaction that is extremely susceptible to manipulation. A candidate can be very impressive in presenting her credentials, but most of it could be culled from the social media and smartly patched up.

Is there a way by which organizations can avoid getting fooled in this manner? There is: behavioral based interviewing. Here, the criterion for assessing the candidate is not rote questions about the candidate’s profile or her past, but a perceptive means of testing her suitability by asking behavior-related questions.
